Why We Exist

From the ashes, stronger than before.

In May 2023, our gym burned to the ground.

We lost our building, our equipment, and the place we had called home since 2008.

What we didn’t lose was our people.

For two years, we set up and tore down equipment inside a church every single week (104 weekends to be exact). Every Friday night we’d put up an entire gyms worth of equipment and pull out an entire sanctuary worth of chairs, and every Sunday afternoon, rain or shine we’d flip the space back from a church and into our gym once again.

And yet, despite the challenging and exhausting circumstances, we grew stronger. Our community didn’t just survive, it got tighter, tougher, and more committed than ever.

On May 23, 2025, we opened the doors to our new home at The PHNX, a space built from the ashes. This building isn’t just steel and brick, it’s proof that resilience pays off, that hard seasons don’t have to break you, and that when people show up for each other, they can rebuild something even better than before.

That’s why we exist. To help people rise. No matter what they’re facing.

Our Mission at CrossFit Trussville

Since 2008, our mission has been clear to change lives through fitness, nutrition, support, and love.

Yes, we want you to get stronger, fitter, and healthier. But that’s not the whole picture. We’re here to help you become the kind of person who shows up for yourself and others. We believe this place should be more than a gym, it should be a community where you belong, where you’re challenged, and where you leave better than you came in.

Our values come straight from Galatians 5:22-23:

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control."

These aren’t just words we put on the wall. They’re the standard we aim to live by. We’re not perfect, but every coach, every class, and every interaction is an opportunity to practice these values in real life.

Why This Matters

Anyone can give you a workout.
