Youth Programs at CFT

Built for
young athletes.

Two programs. One mission — get kids moving, build real skills, and give them something to be proud of. CFT Kids and CFT Youth meet kids exactly where they are and take them somewhere better. Monday and Wednesday evenings at 139 Railroad Street.

The Programs

Two programs.
Built differently.

Same coaches. Same facility. Same commitment to doing this right. The programming is built specifically for each age group — what a 7-year-old needs and what a 12-year-old needs are two different things, and we treat them that way.

Ages 7–9  ·  Mon & Wed 6:00–6:30pm
CFT Kids

Movement is something that can be fun — and CFT Kids exists to prove it. Through age-appropriate games, activities, and structured exercise, kids build coordination, endurance, and healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

Every class is about building energy and a genuine love for being active. No pressure, no competition with each other — just kids getting off screens, sweating with friends, and leaving every session feeling like they did something real.

  • Coordination, balance, and fundamental movement
  • Energy, endurance, and healthy habits
  • Games and structured exercise — genuinely fun
  • 30-minute classes, Monday and Wednesday
  • Ages 7 to 9  ·  All levels welcome
Ages 10–12  ·  Mon & Wed 6:30–7:30pm
CFT Youth

CFT Youth is where kids take their fitness to the next level. Built around strength, skill, and real results — athletes in this program are introduced to functional movements and structured training in a coached, supportive environment where they can push themselves and grow at their own pace.

Athletes learn proper lifting technique, build real strength, and develop the kind of confidence and discipline that carries over into every area of their life. Sport performance, physical literacy, mental toughness — it all starts here.

  • Proper lifting technique from day one
  • Functional movements and strength development
  • Confidence and discipline that carries into sport and school
  • 60-minute classes, Monday and Wednesday
  • Ages 10 to 12  ·  All levels welcome
Why It Matters

Skills they'll
carry forever.

Off Screens
Doing Something Real

Kids who move feel better, sleep better, and focus better. CFT gives them a place to be physical, competitive, and proud of something they earned — not handed a trophy for showing up.

With Friends
Community From Day One

The same culture that makes adult CFT members stay for four years on average starts here. Kids who train together, encourage each other, and share hard work build something that lasts well beyond the gym.

Coached
Real Development

Every session is coached by people who know how to work with young athletes — safe progressions, age-appropriate loading, and an environment where effort is celebrated and improvement is the only standard that matters.

Questions

Before your
athlete starts.

  • CFT Kids is for ages 7 to 9 — movement-focused, game-based, and designed around making fitness fun. CFT Youth is for ages 10 to 12 — more structured, introduces real lifting, and built around strength and skill development. If you're unsure, reach out and we'll help you figure out the right fit.

  • No. Both programs are beginner friendly. Coaches meet every athlete at their starting point and progress from there. Kids who've never trained alongside kids who play three sports — they all belong here.

  • Yes. Lifting technique is taught from the ground up — bodyweight before load, mechanics before intensity, always. Our coaches know the difference between developing a young athlete and loading a kid up. Safety and proper form are the foundation of everything in the Youth program.

  • Email us at info@crossfittrussville.com or text us at (205) 317-9234. We'll send you pricing, answer any questions, and get your athlete signed up. Ask about our sibling discount if you have more than one kid joining.

  • The programs are designed for different age groups, so most kids will fit into one or the other. If your child is on the boundary age-wise or you have multiple kids in different groups, reach out and we'll talk through what makes sense.
