CrossFit.

Strength. Cardio. Functional movement. All coached, all scaled, all programmed with purpose. CrossFit Games athletes, Ironman finishers, and complete beginners — often in the same class. Eighteen years in, the standard hasn't changed: every rep matters, every athlete improves.

What Is CrossFit
Coached. Scaled.
Built to work.

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movement performed at relatively high intensity — and every word of that matters. Constantly varied means you never repeat the same session. Functional means the movements transfer directly to real life. High intensity means relative to you, not a fixed standard.

At CFT, every CrossFit class is designed to develop ten physical attributes: cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. You don't have to be good at all of them when you start. The programming builds them systematically over time.

  • 01
    ↑ 35% injury risk reduction
    Warmup
Targeted movement prep that activates the right muscles, primes the nervous system, and reduces injury risk. Not jogging and stretching — purposeful CNS activation that increases force output in the strength work that follows.
  • 02
    Strength before metcon — always
    Skill or Strength
Performing strength work in a pre-fatigued state produces inferior motor recruitment and weaker adaptations. At CFT, strength always comes before conditioning — the sequence is deliberate and grounded in concurrent training research.
  • 03
The main event — scaled to you
    The Workout (WOD)
The main event. Scaled to your level, timed or structured, and designed to push you in the right direction. Your coach is watching. Your community is beside you. The scoreboard keeps it honest.
  • 04
    Parasympathetic recovery window
    Cooldown
The parasympathetic recovery window immediately post-exercise is one of the highest-value times to introduce mobility work. Most gyms skip it. Every CFT class ends intentionally — so you walk out better than you came in.
Why Programming Matters
Random training produces
random results.

Most gym-goers follow no program. They do whatever they feel like, repeat what they're comfortable with, and avoid what they're not. Exercise science is unambiguous about the outcome: unstructured training produces inconsistent, plateaued results. Structured progressive programming does the opposite.

The Research
Periodized Programming Outperforms Random Training

A systematic review found that athletes following structured progressive programs outperform those doing unstructured training on every measurable fitness marker — strength, power, endurance, and body composition — within 12 weeks. The effect size is not marginal. It's the difference between progress and spinning your wheels.

How CFT Programs
Every Session Is Built on the Last One

CFT's programming is built by Andrew Rape, head programmer since 2008. Every session is designed with the prior week in mind — movement patterns rotate, energy systems alternate, loading progressions build over cycles. You never repeat the same workout twice, but you're always building on what came before. Variety and progression are not opposites. At CFT, they're the same thing.

The Science of the Format
Every part of class
has a reason.

The CrossFit class format isn't arbitrary. Each component is sequenced based on exercise science — and the sequence matters as much as the components. Here's why CFT's class structure produces better results than random training or self-directed gym sessions.

01
Warmup
↑ 35% injury reduction

A structured dynamic warmup reduces injury risk by up to 35% compared to static stretching or no warmup. Beyond injury prevention, proper CNS activation measurably increases force output in the subsequent strength work — meaning you lift more after a real warmup than you would going cold.

Strength First
Sequence determines adaptation

Research on concurrent training shows that performing strength work before conditioning produces significantly better strength outcomes without compromising conditioning results. The reverse impairs motor unit recruitment and produces inferior neural adaptations. The order is not a preference. It's science.

The WOD
Group effect adds 16–25% output

The Köhler effect shows that people working alongside others consistently outperform their solo effort by 16–25%. Exercising in a group with a coach watching raises intensity, maintains form under fatigue, and produces better results than the same workout done alone.

04
Cooldown
Highest-value mobility window

The parasympathetic recovery window immediately post-exercise is one of the most effective times to introduce mobility work — tissue is warm, the nervous system is transitioning to recovery mode, and range of motion is at its daily peak. CFT doesn't skip it.

Who It's For

Everyone has
a
starting line.

Complete Beginners

Your free intro is where we meet you and build a starting point. You won't walk into class lost or overwhelmed — you'll walk in knowing what to expect and with a coach who's already been watching out for you.

Athletes Returning from a Break

We've seen every comeback story. The fitness comes back faster than you think when you have a structured program and coaches who know when to push and when to hold back.

Competitive Athletes

CrossFit Games qualifiers, Regional competitors, GRID League professionals, Ironman finishers, and marathon runners have all trained here. If you're chasing a performance goal, the programming and coaching are built to get you there.

Busy Professionals

Every class has a defined start and finish. Every minute is structured. You show up, a coach runs the session, and you leave having done something that actually mattered. No wasted time.

Adults 60+

CrossFit scales to every age. Many CFT members over 60 train in the main CrossFit program alongside everyone else — and outwork people half their age. If you'd prefer a dedicated program, Legends is built specifically for you.

Anyone Who's Tried and Quit Before

The average CFT member stays 48 months. The industry average is 7 to 9. If you've started and stopped before, the difference here isn't willpower. It's coaching, community, and programming that actually works.
