CrossFit.

What Is CrossFit

Coached. Scaled.
Built to work.

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movement performed at relatively high intensity — and every word of that matters. Constantly varied means you never do the same workout twice. Functional means the movements carry over into real life. High intensity means relative to you, not a standard.

At CFT, every CrossFit class is designed to develop ten physical attributes: cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. You don't have to be good at all of them when you start. The programming builds them over time.

01
Warmup

Targeted movement prep that activates the right muscles, primes the nervous system, and reduces injury risk. Not just jogging and stretching — purposeful work.

02
Skill or Strength

Technical movement practice or structured strength work. This is where you get better at specific things — lifts, gymnastics, mechanics — with coaching and time to actually develop.

03
The Workout (WOD)

The main event. Scaled to your level, timed or structured, and designed to push you in the right direction. Your coach is watching. Your community is beside you.

04
Cooldown

Recovery work, mobility, and time to breathe. Every class ends intentionally so you walk out better than you came in — not just more tired.

“I’ve lost 52 pounds in just one-year doing crossfit at Cft.”

Why It Works

The difference is
the coaching.

EVERY DAY

Real Coaching. Real Attention.

A certified coach leads every class — programs the session, watches your form, adjusts your load in real time, and knows your name. This is what separates CrossFit from a gym membership. The coaching is the product.

EVERY SESSION

Programmed With Purpose

Nothing is random. Every workout is part of a system designed to develop real fitness over time — strength, endurance, mobility, and skill, all progressing together. No more guessing what to do or whether it's working.

EVERY LEVEL

Scaled to You

Every movement has a version that's right for where you are today. CrossFit Games athletes and first-timers do the same workout with different weights and progressions. Nobody is left behind. Nobody has an excuse to coast.

Class Schedule

CrossFit classes
fit your day.

Seven time slots daily Monday through Thursday. Six on Friday. Whether you're a 5am athlete or an after-work regular, there's a class that works. Every class is the the same quality — just a different community.

Who It's For

Every level.
One standard.

The programming doesn't change. The coaching doesn't change. The expectations don't change. What changes is the weight on the bar and the movement progressions — and that's exactly how it should be.

Complete Beginners

Your free intro is where we meet you and build a starting point. You won't walk into class lost or overwhelmed — you'll walk in knowing what to expect and with a coach who's already been watching out for you.

Athletes Returning from a Break

We've seen every comeback story. The fitness comes back faster than you think when you have a structured program and coaches who know when to push and when to hold back.

Competitive Athletes

CrossFit Games qualifiers, Regional competitors, GRID League professionals, Ironman finishers, and marathon runners have all trained here. If you're chasing a performance goal, the programming and coaching are built to get you there.

Busy Professionals

Every class has a defined start and finish. Every minute is structured. You show up, a coach runs the session, and you leave having done something that actually mattered. No wasted time.

Adults 60+

CrossFit scales to every age. Many CFT members over 60 train in the main CrossFit program alongside everyone else — and outwork people half their age. If you'd prefer a dedicated program, Legends is built specifically for you.

Anyone Who's Tried and Quit Before

The average CFT member stays 48 months. The industry average is 7 to 9. If you've started and stopped before, the difference here isn't willpower. It's coaching, community, and programming that actually works.

Questions

Before you
show up.

  • Yes — and your free intro exists specifically to make sure of it. Before you join any class, a coach sits with you one-on-one, walks you through the movements, assesses your starting point, and builds your first plan. You don't join a class until your coach and you both agree you're ready. Every movement has a scaled version that's appropriate for every fitness level.

  • At a regular gym, you swipe a keycard and figure it out alone. At CFT, a coach programs your session, leads every class, watches your movement, and pushes you in the right direction. There's no guessing what to do. There's no wondering if it's working. The coaching is the product — and it's included with every membership.

  • No. CrossFit develops strength, endurance, and athleticism — not bulk. The programming is designed for real-world fitness, not bodybuilding. Most people who train CrossFit consistently get leaner, not bigger. If your goal is fat loss, the combination of strength and conditioning work at CFT is one of the most effective tools available.

  • Yes. CrossFit Trussville membership may qualify for reimbursement through your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account. Ask at your free intro or visit our HSA/FSA page for the details.
