At CrossFit Trussville in Trussville, Alabama, every class is coach led because we believe you deserve more than access. You deserve attention, correction, encouragement, and someone who sees what you are capable of before you see it yourself.

We have been coaching this community since 2008. Through growth, through the 2023 fire, through two years of setting up inside a church, and now inside The PHNX Collective, one thing has never changed. Coaching is the standard.

Our story shaped how we coach

The fire changed our perspective

When our building burned down in 2023, we lost equipment. We lost walls. We lost convenience. What we did not lose was our people.

For 104 weekends, we set up and tore down an entire gym inside a church. In that season, coaching became even more intentional. There was no room for distraction. No room for sloppy instruction. Every class had to count.

That season sharpened us. It made us better listeners. Better teachers. More aware of how much people rely on structure when life feels uncertain.

When we reopened at The PHNX in 2025, we brought that intensity of care with us.

As a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and CrossFit Level 2 Coach, Candace has a trained eye for movement quality. She can spot small compensations that protect you from bigger injuries later. Many members credit her attention to detail for keeping them training pain free.
